Happy in the Hope
2021 has been another crazy year. Vaccines, the Delta variant, etc. We have been in a pandemic for about 2 years now. That is just insane if you ask me! I would love to say that things are going to be better in 2022, but I’m honestly not sure. At the end of 2020, I thought that everything was going to go back to normal by the summer of 2021, but, unfortunately, we are back in a bad position. Despite this negative attitude, I have managed to develop a mantra that has helped me to have an open mind as we approach New Year’s Day: “Happy in the Hope.”
“Happy in the Hope” was something I started to say to myself when I was struggling with my school life a couple of years ago, but I think it applies perfectly to the situation the coronavirus has put us in. This saying reminds me to be “happy in the hope” that things will work out or get better one day. This quote allows me to focus on the good of the future, rather than the bad of the present. Life is too short to feel upset about the events around us. So, we need to think about things that make us happy, and, right now, that is the future—a coronavirus-free world.
I know it’s hard to have an open mind in times like these. But, try to imagine the coronavirus as a type of war. The moment we let this virus consume our happiness is the moment when we truly lose the war against covid. Covid has already won several battles, as it takes the lives of millions around the world. But the war is not over yet. We must go into 2022 being happy in the hope that we will defeat this virus and that, one day, things will be normal again.
Cheers to 2022!
